Getting ready to pin my sandwich of the WashDay Blues quilt I am making for a family wedding in May, so I need to get a move on, I also have to make another quilt by the end of April for my sisters birthday. Busy time ahead.
This is made in 100% cottone with a batting of polydown polyester. Made on my Janome MemoryCraft 6600P machine, it will be line quilted on that machine too.
Photo of the finished quilt, hopefully next week.

My Mother in Law
My Mother in Law Violet taught me to do patchwork & quilting 12 years ago when we stayed there for 3 months.
I have been a sewer all my life, I have made my own & my children's clothes for years, I always wanted to try patchwork and Violet set me on the way.
Violet is almost 90yrs old and still quilts every day, she hand quilts all her work, where as I machine quilt. This is her latest quilt.
I love the pinwheel design.

Alan's Socks
My husband asked me to make him a pair of socks, I started them yesterday, I am a slow knitter so they might be finished in time for next winter. lol.
This is where I am up to so far.

This is a quilt I made for my Brother, he is very ill and I thought a nice quilt to wrap around when he feels sick will do the trick, I searched for ages to get a pattern I thought was manly enough. I have to say I loved making this, It was from a free pattern from Blank quilting its called Belle Fleur.
I wish I had a better photo, but I made this last winter and there was never a nice enough day to photo it outside. So you can't see the beautiful colours of the fabrics.

floating alphabet cot quilt.
I was given a parcel of baby fabric from my Mother in Law Violet, she is 88 yrs old and still an avid quilter.
In the parcel was a vintage series of hand appliqued alphabet letters, all hand sewn beautifully with embroidery silks. I was stuck what to do with them, but wanted to use as they were so well made.
So I played around with them, after I had separated the blocks and squared them up, they came out as 4inch blocks.
And this is the final result, I think it makes a stunning contemporary cot quilt or floor mat. The 2nd picture is the back of the quilt.
